Subsurface Investigation of Processing Plant to Identify Voids in Concrete Foundation
FDH performed a subsurface investigation of the Honeywell-Geismer Plant to determine the presence of voids beneath an existing concrete foundation. Using GPR, FDH identified several areas of concern requiring additional physical investigation. The results helped identify both critical locations within the processing plant requiring extensive repair and less critical conditions requiring monitoring for potential future repair. The additional information obtained was used in the renovations and upgrades to the plant’s processing components, which limited the turn-around time otherwise needed for potholing and repairing procedures.
