Determining Unknown Lengths of Bridge Piles for South Carolina DOT

From 2009-2013, FDH aided South Carolina’s Scour Evaluation Program by evaluating 325 existing bridge piles and foundation (abutment) sizes for timber and concrete bridge types. FDH determined the unknown lengths of the existing bridge piles and foundations. Evaluations were also conducted of the thalweg and streambed profiles of each of the bridge locations.
