Condition Assessment of Gate Anchorage for State Dam

At the request of a state government agency responsible for several dams, FDH partnered with a prime consultant to create a field and laboratory testing scope to aid in assessing the health of the gate anchorage. FDH conducted field testing and laboratory prototype testing to model post-tensioned anchorage loads using its proprietary nondestructive testing techniques. Field testing was performed at four dams throughout the state to collect data on anchorage geometry and accelerometer response during a mechanical excitation regimen. Prototype frames were developed to mimic the full length of anchorage at each of the four dams, and similar testing was conducted in controlled laboratory conditions.
