Congratulations to data science engineer Dr. Ashtad Javanmardi, recipient of the ASCE Thomas Fitch Rowland Prize for the paper “Improving Effectiveness of Constraints Removal in Construction Planning Meetings: Information-Theoretic Approach.”
This prestigious national award is reserved for those who have authored work in an ASCE publication. Dr. Javanmardi, along with co-authors Drs. S. Alireza Abbasian-Hosseini (Flatiron Construction), Min Liu (North Carolina State University), and Simon M. Hsiang (University of North Carolina at Charlotte) developed a framework to utilize an information theoretic–based approach to measure information exchange, uncertainty, and information sharing in construction planning meetings.
Selected for the award by ASCE’s Construction Institute, this paper was published in the April 2020 issue of the Journal of Construction Engineering and Management and can be found in the ASCE library.
