Broadcast facilities may need changes after FCC spectrum auction Posted on Feb 22, 2016

Stainless_ant200In the February 2016 issue of AGL Magazine, Don Doty, regulatory compliance advisor for FDH Velocitel, discusses how broadcasters can prepare for the changes that may result to their facilities following the upcoming Federal Communications Commission 101 reverse auction for full power and Class A TV broadcast stations. Doty advises broadcasters to begin planning now to develop realistic budgets and timetables for implementing changes to their towers, such as adding/replacing antenna systems and RF equipment. He provides a checklist of important records that should be gathered to help identify and prioritize needed changes and to determine if a structural analysis is required. Read more.
