Purolator Filters hired FDH to sturdy its complex oil filter manufacturing space for the design and installation of a new cooling system. The manufacturing plant was inadequately cooled, and years of retrofits added heat-creating equipment and stress to the aging infrastructure. FDH’s energy services group performed a heat load and energy efficiency study while the firm’s structural engineering group completed a concurrent building load study. FDH delivered a comprehensive conceptual design budget for two 400-ton, water-cooled chillers service four rooftop air handlers and three interior air turnover units.
