NDT for Unknown Transmission Foundations Featured at CEATI Posted on Nov 15, 2017

FDH Velocitel’s Rakesh Khan, PE, presents “The Value of Nondestructive Testing for Unknown Transmission Foundations” at CEATI’s T&D Asset Management Conference on November 15 in Tampa, FL. Khan, director of engineering for FDHV’s heavy civil division, reviews a recent case where an existing lattice tower foundation was found to be insufficient during reconductoring. FDH Velocitel used a proprietary nondestructive test (NDT) method to evaluate the foundation condition and designed a cost-effective solution to augment the foundation without taking the line out of service.
