FDHV Receives First Wave of Tower Work from Nationwide Channel Repack Posted on Nov 10, 2016

Broadcast TowerFDH Velocitel was recently awarded a nationwide contract to inspect more than 300 broadcast towers, ranging in height from approximately 200 to 2,000 feet.

The $1.4M project represents the first wave of tower work anticipated from the nationwide channel repack following the Federal Communication Commission’s incentive auctions of TV broadcast spectrum.

FDHV’s qualified tower crews will perform antenna and line mapping as well as TIA inspections for each site. The TIA inspections include inspecting the broadcast tower foundation, structure, safety, grounding, guy anchors and wires, and AM detuning. Crews mobilized in early November and are expected to complete the work by December 2017.

FDHV was selected as the sole vendor for this work due to its tower mapping and inspection experience and capacity to deliver quality tower documentation packages.

The nationwide project will be managed by Grady McCollum, PE, and Brent McLain, PE, is the engineering director.
