Pang, Doty, Smith, Barham, Kendall promoted to director level
FDH Infrastructure Services, a professional services firm serving critical infrastructure markets, has announced the promotion of nearly 30 employees nationwide, including five staff members at the director level. Promotions at this level represent the employees’ advancement to the leadership team, which carries additional responsibilities for meeting the firm’s business and financial goals as established by executive management. The promotions coincide with the firm’s ongoing expansion of its engineering, nondestructive investigation and construction services in the broadcast, telecommunications and power markets.
Alan A. Pang, PhD, PE, Director, Broadcast Engineering (Lansdale, PA). Dr. Pang directs and manages all broadcast tower engineering within the Stainless® business unit and reports directly to the vice president of structural engineering. He schedules and executes all broadcast tower structural analyses, design of tower and foundation modifications, and new tower designs. He also works closely with field operations with rigging plan reviews, tower checks during operations and resolution of site issues to ensure smooth and timely completion of the company’s field contracts. Dr. Pang has more than 30 years’ of structural engineering experience, primarily in high-rise building structural design and construction, and tall broadcast tower design and engineering. He obtained his B.E. from the University of Malaya, and holds both an M.E. and PhD from Lehigh University. Dr. Pang is a licensed professional engineer in eight states.
Donald (Don) Doty, Director, Broadcast Services (Cedar Hill, TX). Starting in the tower business in 1974, Doty joined Stainless® in 2000 and has served in varying roles covering all aspects of the tower erection industry. As director of broadcast services, Doty oversees business development for all broadcast projects and reports to the vice president for commercial management. A former chairman of the National Association of Tower Erectors (NATE), Doty served on the NATE subcommittee that finalized the ANSI/ASSE A10.48 Standard, which established criteria for safety practices regarding communications structures. He currently serves as president of the board of directors for the National Wireless Safety Alliance (NWSA). Doty is a licensed construction contractor in seven states.
Bradley (Brad) Smith, PE, Director, Client Services (St. Louis, MO). Smith began his career with FDH in 2011 as a project engineer after graduating from the Missouri University of Science and Technology with a B.S. in civil engineering. He performed structural analyses and modification designs for telecommunications tower owners and rose in the organization to manage structural engineering services for some of the company’s largest tower clients. As director of client services, Smith is now responsible for the overall execution, client satisfaction and company growth in the telecommunications sector. He works in close partnership with operational departments to ensure client expectations are met through excellent communication and quality of service. Smith is a licensed professional engineer in three states.
Chad Barham, Director, Client Services (St. Louis, MO).
Barham has provided project engineering and management services for FDH telecommunications clients since 2010. He worked with a strong team of project managers to complete large scale inspection programs, was responsible for doubling internal field crew capacity through a dedicated hiring initiative, and supervised the management of subcontracted projects for the company’s largest telecom clients. As director of client services, Barham is now responsible for the overall execution, client satisfaction and company growth in the telecommunications sector. He works in close partnership with operational departments to ensure client expectations are met through excellent communication and quality of service. Barham received a B.S. in civil engineering from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and an A.S.D. in business administration from Southwestern Illinois College.
Benjamin (Ben) Kendall, Director, Business Systems (Raleigh, NC). Kendall directs all aspects of the organization’s business systems, which serve the needs of internal and external clients in the areas of project administration, computer-aided design (CAD) and information technology (IT) services. He has been with FDH since 2011, supporting multiple engineering disciplines across the organization, managing CAD services, developing standards and process controls, automating redundant tasks and providing operational leadership. He interacts closely with architects, engineers, contractors and clients in a variety of residential, commercial and industrial projects. Kendall graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in dramatic art.
