FDH Corporate Statement on Racism Posted on Jun 22, 2020

Corporate Statement

In recognition of the historic commemoration of Juneteenth, FDH is joining the rising global chorus of voices denouncing systemic institutional racism in the wake of the killing of George Floyd and countless other deadly encounters with people of color.

There is no justification for such heinous acts, which have persisted for far too long and cause too many of our fellow citizens to live in terror as they go about their daily lives. The demonstrations of recent weeks have laid these facts bare for more and more people who hadn’t yet grappled with this fundamental injustice. The reckoning born in the streets of every state, and in countries across the globe, demands difficult work of every human, and the world will be a better place for it.

We will renew and expand our longstanding commitments to diversity, inclusiveness, and community service in all of our locations, and encourage our employees to do the same, whether by volunteering, by donating to worthy causes, or by voicing their ideas and opinions on how FDH can best express those commitments in action. It is our sincere hope that this increased awareness can lead to focused action, creating a long-needed baseline of respect and civility, ending a cycle of violence that has ensnared everyone, and moving us forward as a human race, rather than as isolated groups.
